Has anyone tried hair rebonding? Its a japanese hair treatment to get straight glossy hair? any feed

Does it really work or does it damage your hair?

Has anyone tried hair rebonding? Its a japanese hair treatment to get straight glossy hair? any feedback?

I can honestly say that i'm qute experienced when it comes to straightening my hair because i've been doing it since junior high, which is like 10 years ago. I've done hair rebonding since freshman year college which is like 6 years ago.

The process does take a few hours depending on how long your hair is. Painful, well my neck hurt just because you have to have the stuff on ur head for a few hours. But other than that it didn't hurt (eg they weren't pulling my scalp or anything).

Any type of hair straightening treatment (and even curling treatment) would damage ur hair if you're not careful with taking care of it after the treatment. but when it comes to rebonding, since it was created for asian hair which is more fine and fragile, it's alot safer compared to western products (i've tried alot of these as well). If your hair is originally abit thick i'm not sure if the product will work as well for you. I naturally have very very curly hair but its thin curly hair, and rebonding works perfectly for me. I just keep it from getting damaged by using shampoo + conditioner for dry and damaged hair (this gives abit extra moisture that treated hair needs) then just use some smoothing lotion or anti dead-ends/split ends for extra protection. If you want to know how long it lasts well, just like when you get your hair dyed, once the roots start growing out your original curls come with them too. In that case, you can always just retouch the roots (usually after 2 or 3 months) which takes less time than doing the whole thing all over again.

Hope this helps at all.

My friend did it. She said it was painful and took several hours. It has been like a year now and I guess it still looks straight, but it lost almost all of its gloss. Not worthi t, you can see how damaged it is.
