Is it true that its basically like hot oil treatment, but with longer term effect like 3 months or so? And does it really make hair extra shiny?

Yes it works but it has side effects. When ever you coat your hair with cello products you can not color or perm your hair until all of that hair is CUT off. It will burn your hair and in some cases melted it. These products are great for people who are allergic to typically used hair colors. No the are not like hot oil treatments. Hot oil washes off in about 3 to 4 days cello products do not wash off.

it's only a hilighting system.
super shiny as soon as it's done, but within a few shampoos it will fade as ALL hilites do.
they have a tint in the color to accentuate or neutralize the remaining color pigment.
