Generally, Hot Oil treatments are not all that great. Most all treatments leave heavy residuals.

Better to find a solid leave in conditioner. That's just me I guess.

I use:Aveda Color Conserve Leave in Conditioner

My grandmother used mayonnaise.....she had beautifully luscious hair for years - the bonus would be the protein in the eggs.

Use warm olive oil (from your kitchen) instead of buying those expensive ones. Make sure you wash it out well after several hours. Best wishes.

If you are wanting to get a real good at-home deep conditioning treatment, do this:

At walmart, in the black hair-care section, there is this deep conditioning treatment that's orange, it's got like carrot oil and some other stuff in it, it's kind of stinky and I can't remember what it's called, I just grab it.

Put a damp bath towel in the oven for about 5 or 10 minutes with the oven on 250 degrees.... you will need this later.

wash your hair normally and rinse it with water as hot as you can handle it, this opens up your hair folicles. Put the conditioner in your hair pretty thick, not so thick that it's glopping off, but enough that you can tell it's in there.

After you do that, take some saran wrap (yes, saran wrap, plastic wrap) and wrap it around your HAIR only! Not your face, not your nose, not your mouth or eyes, not your ears, just your hair.

Now, CAREFULLY take that towel out of the oven, wrap that around your head, too (read precautions in previous paragraph). It will be kind of warm. Leave that on your head for like fifteen minutes.

Take the towel off, take the saran wrap off, now, rinse your hair with cool water... as cold as you can handle it. It shocks the hair and closes the folicles, and you lose less of the conditioning treatment.

Towel dry your hair and use a vented brush to brush through it. Use something light like Pink Oil Light and put it through your hair as normal. Don't blow dry your hair, that just basically destroys what you've just done. Let it air dry. Then, if you've got to curl or flat iron it, you're good.

Good luck!

Tresseme Moisurizing Conditioner. Towel dry hair and apply a lot of this on the whole head. Wrap your hair in plastic wrap and then apply a damp heated towel(don't burn your head). Keep the towel on until it cools off and then rinse your hair. Keep doing this weekly if your hair just needs to be deep conditioned, every two days if its severely damaged.

Go to the ethnic aisle of the grocery store and but a small bottle of sesame oil. Take about a third of a teaspoon and put it in your hand, rub your hands together to warm the oil and work it through your hair, use a half tsp if you have longer tham shoulder length hair.

Just keep running your hands through your hair and scrunching it. You will see as you keep working it, you will spread the oil evenly and just let it stand for about fifteen minutes.

You can warm your hair with a blow dryer and let it cool then shampoo your hair as usual.

Some people use mayo, but they hate the results because they use too much and nobody wants to go out smelling like a salad.

Just try the sesame oil treatment, it has no ammonia, no perfumes, no chemicals. It works on damaged hair and I hope you like it
